John Abraham and Varun Dhawan team up for Rohit Dhawan’s Dishoom. Let’s take a look at what the film is all about.
Dishoom tells the tale of a famous Indian cricketer named Viraj Sharma (Saqib Salim) who is kidnapped on the eve of a cricket match by a match fixer played to perfection by Akshaye Khanna. That’s where our two portagonists enter. While John Abraham plays the character of a brooding, badass cop, Varun Dhawan is snugly at home in his role of a swashbucking, fun-loving young coppa. Naturally these two badass dudes quickly develop a bromance and zoom off to an exotic middle-eastern city to rescue the famous cricketer. On their journey they are joined by a gorgeous Jacqueline Fernandez who naturally falls for our chocolate boy Varun. Tremendous action sequences ensue as the film unrelentingly oozes style and charisma.
Director Rohit Dhawan is right at home with these buddy action flicks and he does a great job of using his actors to perfection. The script however is filled with cliches and offers nothing new, in fact it does tend to drag a little bit in the second half even if the opening is pretty uniformly entertaining. But what action it is! From car chases in the sands of Abu Dhabi to helicopter battles in mid air, this film is packs a solid punch in every way.
